Part of an ongoing series of artworks during Ronald Pope’s prolific ‘Passing Crowds’ phase – ‘The Ascent’ cubistically fragments each figure into a blur of movement and propels us the viewer into the characters’ ascent – Ronald Pope, the master of movement and rhythm (from the late artist’s family estate).
